With data from 329 chinese listed manufacturing manufacturing firms in 2004 , we get the following empirical results : the degree of internationalization ( doi ) of the firms has a negative effect on the performance , and it demonstrates a significant negative correlation between the degree of internationalization ( doi ) of firms measured by esr and return on sales ( ros ) and roa ( return on assets )
